Hand-painted octagonal porcelain plate with a magnolia branch and bird motif, teal border with gilt trim, marked on reverse with a red apocryphal Qianlong-style reign mark.
A charming octagonal export porcelain plate hand-painted with pink and white magnolia blossoms and a small perched bird, framed by a soft teal border with gilt edging. The reverse carries a red four-character mark in the style of the Qianlong reign — a mark widely used on Chinese export porcelain from the mid-20th century onward as a decorative homage rather than an indicator of true 18th-century age. This is a vintage export piece rather than a period antique, and a lovely one for a chinoiserie-inspired vignette or gallery of mismatched plates.
