Reticulated Square Pear Plate, Cream and Gold, 9"

A square ceramic plate with cut corners, the wide border pierced through in long narrow slots and set with a small gold starburst at each corner, edged in a fine dotted gold rule. The center is painted with a cluster of three golden pears on the branch, leaves in deep and pale green, and a spray of white blossom, all over a warm cream ground. Measures 9 inches square. Reads French country or Tuscan depending on what you put around it, and works equally as a wall plate, a catchall on a console, or a serving piece for fruit and cheese. An impressed maker mark is present on the underside but is not legible in the photos. Light glaze wear consistent with age.
