A handmade push pin ornament worked in swirling bands of sequins and tiny glass seed beads, teal shading into aqua and lavender and hot pink, with pockets of chartreuse and red and a flash of orange. Every sequin is pinned individually with a silver headed pin, so the whole surface glitters like a beetle shell. The top is finished with a fluffy pink fabric flower and green silk leaves, with a pink satin ribbon for hanging. These were made at home from kits sold through the 1960s and 1970s, and no two ever come out quite alike. Light age wear consistent with a handmade piece of this era.
