Material: Resin

Large molded resin cat figure in matte terracotta tone with raised turquoise, gold, and slate decorative work.

A substantial cat sculpture caught mid stretch, front paws extended flat, back arched high, tail curled up and over. Molded in resin with a matte terracotta colored finish that mimics unglazed clay, then decorated in raised turquoise, deep teal, slate blue, and antique gold, a blanket of dots and ovals across the back, chevron banding down the tail, small leaf and star motifs along the forelegs, and a spiral worked panel at the shoulder. The face is modeled with closed eyes and a serene expression, with fine chevron scoring across the brow. The whole thing reads Egyptian revival by way of studio pottery, though it is considerably lighter than a comparable ceramic piece would be, which makes it easy to place on a shelf or console without worrying about the weight. Some paint loss to the finish, mostly on the muzzle, brow, and front paws, where the lighter body shows through. No chips, cracks, or breaks to the form. Cat sculpture, Egyptian revival decor, turquoise and terracotta, stretching cat figure, southwest decor, large cat statue.
